During the National Communication Committee briefing this evening, Dr Zouberr Joomaye announced that there have been four more people who tested positive for the Covid-19, out of which three are medical staff. The fourth one was identified through contact tracing in the Canot cluster. Thus, bringing the total of positive cases in Mauritius to 202.
Dr Joomaye also told the press that 6942 persons received their first dose of Covaxin today, which were imported to Mauritius on Friday. The vaccine is produced by Bharat Biotech in India. However, it has not been approved by the WHO (World Health Organisation).
